Abstract
Aqqoyunlu Timurid Relations from Allegiance to Conflict
With the collapse of the Ilkhanate, the Aqqoyunlu state organized by the Bayindir tribe of Oghuz developed friendly relationships with the Timur within the framework of liege and naturalness. The relationships which have begun since the 1400s with Qara Osman Beg's acception Amir Timur as an overlord was tried to be developed politic, military and kinship connections by the later Aqqoyuns begs. The Aqqoyunlu begs regarded Timur and Timurs lords guardian against their nemesis, The Qara Qoyunlus. After the death of Osman Beg, Ali Beg (1435-1438), Hamza Beg (1438-1444), and Cihangir Mirza (1444-1453) entered a stable process in the Timurid relations Aqqoyunlu. However, this perception changed when Uzun Hasan Beg came to the throne of Aqqoyuns. A strong Aqqoyunlu State began to clash directly with its former friend Timurids. This conflict ended with Akkoyunlu Uzun Hasan Bey killing the last powerful ruler of Timurids, Abu Said and interfering with the internal affairs of Timureans. This article analyses the change in political, military and kinship relations between the Aqqoyuns with Timur from Qara Osman Beg period to Uzun Hasan in the historical process.
