Abstract


The Study of Primary, Secondary, And High School Teachers’ Organizational Silence Perception in terms of Various Variables
The aim of this study: to determine teachers' organizational silence perception in terms of various variables. In this study, the research project base on the experience and insight of 154 teachers who work in the 2017/2018 semester. at the Çatalpınar province of Ordu. The survey method was used for this study. To detect the perception level of teachers in the data collection process, “The Organizational Silence Scale” which was developed by the Kahveci and Demirtaş, was used. All the data obtained by the survey method was analyzed by the SPSS 20 statistical program and the significant scale of them was accepted as 0.5. In the analyzation stage, arithmetic means, frequency, standard deviation, T-test, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U Test, and Kruskal- Wallis H test were applied. The outcome of the study: It was noticed that teaches have medium level organizational silence perception. The highest silence perception of them was emotional subscale, followed by executive isolation and school setting subscales. The source of silence subscale was determined by the lowest silence perception of them. In this study, it was found that there is no concrete evidence that supports the claim of teachers’ silence perception depend on age and gender variables for all subscales. On the other hand, it was found that teachers’ silence perception level varies significantly in terms of their academic ranks.
