Abstract


Investigation of Science Questions That 36-72 Months Old Children Are Curious about in terms of Various Variables
This research aims to determine the science questions that children aged 36-72 months make by evaluating within the scope of National Science Standards. The research was carried out in a mixed research model. Semi-structured interview forms were used to collect the data and the data were analyzed by the content analysis method. The science questions that children wonder about were taken from the children by conducting individual interviews with each child by the researchers. Responses from the children were transferred to the form. The study group of the study consisted of 205 pre-school children studying in private and public schools in different districts of Istanbul. As a result of the research, it was determined that children asked more questions about earth and space science. No significant relationship was found between the gender of the children and the national science standard questionnaires. It has been determined that as the duration of pre-school education and the age of the child increases, the variety of questions asked by children increases.
