Abstract
Examination Of The Pisi Cartoon In Terms Of The Values It Contains
The aim of this study is to examine the cartoon of Pisi, which targets preschool children, in terms of the values it contains. The research was carried out in accordance with the document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Within the scope of the study, all the episodes (52 episodes) of the Pisi cartoon published until the date of the research were monitored and analyzed in terms of values with the content analysis method. In the research, the content of the Pisi cartoon was analyzed within the scope of fifteen values determined by combining the ten root values determined by MEB and the values included in the 2013 preschool education program. These values are helpfulnes, responsibility, tolerance, honesty, respect, love, trust, friendship, equality, justice, freedom, self-control, patriotism, patience and solidarity. The findings obtained as a result of the content analysis regarding the status of the values in the cartoon are summarized as frequency values and tabulated. In addition, each value encountered was supported by direct quotations from the relevant parts of the cartoon. As a result of the research, a total of 236 times related expressions were found in 52 sections of the Pisi cartoon. It was seen that the values most frequently included in the cartoon were the values of helpfulness and love. In addition, it was determined that the value of patriotism was never given, and the least value was justice.
