Abstract


Teachers' Views on the Behavior of Specially Gifted Students in the Classroom
This study aims to reveal the opinions of teachers about the reflection of the behaviors of specially gifted students in the classroom environment. The study was designed in the phenomenology pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods, and the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used. A total of 25 classroom teachers, 21 females and 4 males, with specially talented students in the class. The data collection process of this study was carried out in 2018. In the study, a semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool. The data obtained were analyzed by the content analysis method. As a result, the teachers who participated in the research stated that students with special abilities in their classes generally show positive behaviors and partially negative behaviors. Teachers stated that they used various methods regarding the positive and negative behaviors of the students, but also made some suggestions for their colleagues who had special talented students in their class.
