Abstract
A Study on the Importance of the Concept of Ethics in Local Governments
Local governments are the closest organizations to the public about their services. From environment to transportation, from infrastructure to education and health, all the issues that local governments provide services are related to social life. As the closest organizations to the public, it is essential for local governments to gain the trust and reputation of the public in the delivery of all these services. While local administrators always keep their communication channels open with the public, their services will increase their success and make it easier for them to implement ethical principles in their institutions. However, as can be seen with the examples dicussed in the study, local administrators, who come to the agenda with corruption and ethical violations, will destroy their credibility with their success. This study will be carried out based on the literature review. In this study; The importance of the concept of ethics in local governments will be handled within the framework of different examples in practice.
