Abstract
Foundation Philosophy of the University and Its Religious Bases
Universities in the East or West are the most ancient institutions in history. It serves the function of providing continuity and connection between the past and the future as well as change and continuity. My first lesson to the faculty and college students, where I have been attending classes for many years, especially introduction to sociology, is “what is a University?"I start with the question and listen to their knowledge, ideas and perceptions about it. Then I find it very useful to talk about the historical origin of the concept and its etymology and to give the course by explaining the philosophy of the foundation of the University. So I would like to remind them that we are on a journey of enlightenment together. K. After all, as Jaspers says, “the University, along with its students and academics, is a community of truth seekers.” In this article, it will be enlightening to examine the philosophy of the University, its religious foundations, its interactions and its historical process in the West and in us.
