Abstract
The Problem of Departmentalization in Higher Religious Education Institutions
In this study, the subject of departmentalization according to employment areas in higher religious education institutions is examined in the context of need, expectation and change. The aim of the study is to discuss the paradigm changes in the curriculum and departmentalization of higher religious education in particular in the faculties of theology / Islamic sciences within the framework of historical development in terms of shedding light on the present and the future. Besides, in the context of quantitative and qualitative changes that have emerged over time, it is to make suggestions about departmentalization. In the study, qualitative research design was adopted, and literature review and document analysis methods were used in this framework. According to the results of the research; In today's world, where the field of duty-responsibility and employment in higher religious education institutions is expanding more than ever before, the faculties of theology / Islamic sciences have a rich theoretical experience and institutional memory in departmentalization, but about a hundred years of experience and occasional experiments in the last forty years and It is understood that a viable and sustainable result regarding the restructuring of the programs has not been achieved. In this context, it can be said that functional and employment-oriented departmentalization should be implemented in theology faculties in order to train qualified religious educators in both formal and non-formal education.
