Abstract
The Relationship between the Workaholism and Narcissism Levels of School Administrators
The main purpose of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship between the workaholism and narcissism levels of school administrators. The study also tried to determine whether there is a meaningful difference between the levels of workaholism and narcissism according to some variables. The research was carried out with quantitative research method using relational search model. The opinions of 203 school administrators were obtained. Administrators in the research have been selected by the maximum diversity method from purposeful sampling methods and those who have completed the data collection tool in a voluntary and in a correct and complete manner in accordance with the directive. The data of the study were obtained through the Narcissistic Personality Inventory and the Workaholism Scale. As a result of the research, it was determined that there is a low correlation between school administrators’ workaholism and narcissistic levels in the positive direction. Another notable finding of this study is that the narcissistic characteristics of school administrators are generally below the narcissistic personality threshold. In addition, it has been found that the level of workaholism of school administrators differ significantly only by the duration of job title variable. From the point of the variable duration of job title, it is determined that the school administrators who manage for 31 years and above have higher levels of workaholism than the school administrators who manage between 1-10 years.
