Indian Thought and Its Effect to Islamic Thought
It is a general acceptance that Indian thought has an effect on Islamic thought. It is seen that this effect is mentioned in most sources of Islamic philosophy. Especially in Islamic thought, it is said to be effective in practices such as ascetic life in Sufism. This effect, which was defined as the classical period of Islamic thought, focused on medicine, astronomy, and mathematics. It is argued that a philosophical effect is not intense. The reason for this is that although the Islamic world has reached the Indian region, it is stated that this effect is less due to the geographical distance when the center of the Islamic world is considered. In addition, it is argued that scientific philosophers first increased their scientific activities when they met with intense Greek thought. Of course, it is seen that there are translations made from Indian thought in the first-period translation activities. In these translations, medicine develops through astronomy and mathematics. The purpose of the study is to examine the basic foundations of this general acceptance and to question the possibility of this general acceptance.
