The Effect of SCAMPER (Guided Brainstorming) Technique on Creative Writings of 5th and 6th Grade Students
This study aims to investigate the effect of the SCAMPER technique on creative writing skills of the 5th and 6th grades. An experimental model with pre-test and post-test was used in the study. Appropriate sampling, one of the non-probable sampling methods, was preferred in the determination of the study group. In this respect, the study group was selected from the 5th and 6th-grade students of the secondary school in the province of Ordu in the 2018-2019 academic year. In the scope of the study, Evaluation Criteria Form for Creative Writing developed by Kırmızı (2008) was used to score the creative writings written by the students. To collect data, one class control group and one class experiment group from each of the 5th and 6th classes were determined. The experimental group was given 12 hours of training for 6 weeks. The control group continued training with the activities in the current Turkish Program. At the end of the 6 weeks, a sample free reading text was presented to both groups of students from the textbooks and asked to create their text.
