Abstract
A Group of Lenger in Adıyaman Museum
Adıyaman, which is less known in terms of development and promotion compared to the provinces of the region, actually contains valuable data in terms of its archeological and ethnographic values in terms of its historical background and cultural accumulation dating back to the Paleolithic period. In the ethnography section and depot of the Adıyaman Museum, many metal works were belonging to the Middle Ages, most of which were made of kitchen utensils. However, this Lenger group was made in the second half of the 18th century and the 19th century in the last period of the Ottomans. By giving information about the geographical structure and history of Adıyaman city, the Adıyaman Museum was chosen for reasons of introducing the history of the development of mining art in Anatolia and the explanation of the Adıyaman Museum which is the only museum in the city. It was also necessary to make technical evaluations of the kinds of mines in question, the decorative elements of these mines. In line with the working principles of the Adıyaman Museum, examples selected from many works and specific details such as their aesthetic appearance were considered as a means of artistic expression and evaluated according to their sensitivity. After being introduced with features such as construction and decoration techniques, they were compared with their counterparts in other regions.
